About Kelley

For Kelley Anderson, the cultural and musical force of the city of Memphis lends itself to the multi-disciplinary explorations that inform and inspire her work as a musician, sound engineer, songwriter, and organizer. A creator of richly layered concepts, Kelley cuts across the boundaries that separate music, visual art, and conceptual art.

Crystal Shrine

Kelley Anderson records and performs under the name Crystal Shrine alongside some of the finest musicians in the city. The music explores ideas of guilt, grace, salvation, and femininity.

Southern Girl’s Rock Camp

Guided by the belief that young people have the collective power to change the world, Kelley co-founded the Southern Girls Rock Camp in 2003, a program that empowers girls and gender non-conforming youth through music education and collaboration, and its parent nonprofit organization Youth Empowerment through Arts and Humanities (YEAH!) in 2006.

Those Darlins

Kelley achieved success as a guitarist, bassist and singer in the ground-breaking, post-punk, rock ‘n’ roll Nashville ensemble Those Darlins, who fused garage pop with their own country-rock sensibility.
